The exhilaration & freedom felt as a kid is still there today. We only wish we could ride more.
As cyclists we appreciate good product & it's important to all at Dawes that our products do not disappoint.
We work closely with today's cyclist, trying to understand their environment, their issues, their wants & needs. How do we go about it? We do something most companies have long forgotten about.

Each year things are tweaked in the pursuit for the best possible cycling experience no matter who you are: leisure rider, cyclo tourist, commuter or avid cross country racer.

Dawes City /Trekking
These are heartland Dawes bikes & possibly the most common two wheeled sight on the roads across Britain's towns & cities- and for good reason. Upright alloy frames gives a light, comfortable & safe ride. Each bike is kitted out with mudguards to keep the worst weather at bay & a rear carrier means you can safely transport your belongings. Great for commuting or for a day exploring country lanes with the family.
If you are looking at buying a bike to ride around the town on don't fall into the MTB trap! Most mountain bikes are designed with frames & gears specifically for riding over difficult terrain- you'll end up going nowhere while twiddling away at the pedals & if its raining you'll have a wet stripe up your back. Our city & trekking bikes are designed to give you a full complement of gears suitable for tarmac & with a host of great comfort features for round town use.
Dawes Discovery
Designed for those wanting the ruggedness of a mountain bike combined with the speed of a road machine. These are true multi purpose bikes, capable of tackling cinder trails or breezing past the evening traffic. Each is kitted with the worlds finest components as well as having mounting points to fit mudguards & carriers.
Dawes Mountain
Our MTB's are good honest bikes- great specs, great geometries with a host of independent reviews backing our opinion that we can out perform others. We love riding trails, if you do too then its worth trying out a Dawes - You won't be sorry.
The core fundamental philosophy at Dawes doesn't change with fashion and basic design principles are not forgotten. For instance, most of our frames use tube profiles that are round and are kept to a diameter that is as small as possible while remaining structurally sound. Sure, we could go for large, in yer face hydroformed tubesets, but more metal equals more weight (that you have to carry!). They're also expensive so other component compromises have to be made to keep cost down. Its also probable that in twelve months time the fat tube is out of fashion & your bike looks dated, not so with a Dawes.
Dawes Touring
Dawes touring bikes are world famous, and for good reason. We have touring bikes that satisfy the traditionalist as well as those seeking something a little more cutting edge. Take the Galaxy range, built using the excellent Reynolds air hardened tubing for a comfortable yet responsive ride. All are fitted with the highest quality equipment to safely escort you to your destination.
It just leaves you to put on your bags, grab your passport & book your accommodation.
Dawes Tandem
Two's company so what better way to get out and about than on a Dawes tandem.
All our tandems are built using specialist quality parts assembled onto our uniquely designed frames that give excellent lateral stiffness. There are options for riding both on & off road or even a bit of both with our hybrid the Discovery Twin.
Dawes Road
If you didn't already know road bike's are cool again! It's a good job we never stopped making them. Dawes road bikes have always gone fast. Nothing can beat that feeling of direct muscle to motion that only a road bike can provide & our line up has all you need to get you across the finish line.
Lightweight, compact aluminium frames, superbe slick finger sensitive gearsets & strong double walled wheels are all prerequisites for Dawes. Sprinting for the lamp posts will never be the same...
Dawes Junior
We take every bit of care possible when putting together our junior bikes. Of course we make sure they look as good as possible but we also take a little more time in ensuring the important things are all in place. Kids are more than just small adults, they have different needs that, due to their strength, reach & weight limitations can affect the way they handle their bike.
We understand this and is borne out by each model we produce. By careful thought and by choosing our geometry, components & materials as closely as possible we look after the details so the kids can take care of the fun.
