 MARIN
For 21 years Marin have been making some of the best bikes on the planet. From our early pioneering work with lightweight materials to our latest high tech, high performance full suspension line, the one common theme that unites every bike we've ever built is the exceptionally high quality of our frames. When combined with components chosen specifically for their year-round performance in tough UK conditions, the resulting bikes offer class-leading weights, long-term reliability and a sublime ride. Our range is split into five categories, each with their own distinct personality

FRAME TECHNOLOGY
From a design perspective, a bicycle frame is a complicated creature. There exists a delicate balance between materials and construction, geometry and ride quality, looks and performance. Changing one attribute, even in the slightest way, can affect them all. Two bikes with identical angles and components may feel very different on the trail because of a difference in material, or a difference in how a material is used. At Marin we work very hard to construct the best frame for every riding condition, Whether it's a Cromoly bike for daily urban abuse, or a hydroformed suspension bike for world class off-road performance, we work very hard to construct the best frame for every riding condition.
We expect nothing less from the companies we partner to produce the finest, most technologically advanced tubing to our unique specifications. After carefully studying the stresses transmitted through each frame, we determine the optimum profiling of our EDGE and, EDGE2, and Hydro-EDGE tubes. We then remove unnecessary material through processes such as butting, drawing, tapering and hydroforming. Each tube for every size in every model is then custom drawn in Titanium, Steel or Aluminum, depending upon the model. When you experience the outstanding ride qualities of every model in the Marin range you'll be glad we have taken the time to ensure we have a bike designed just for you, no matter who you are.
FRAME GEOMETRY
The frame is the single most important component in your bicycle. Like the foundation of a house, the frame is what a great bike is built upon. We have carefully considered the fit of every model in our line, and built frames for all types of riders, and every type of ride. We strive to build not only superbly constructed frames that are lightweight and durable, but frames that are engineered utilising cutting edge technology to support and emphasise specific ride characteristics.
To achieve this, we use Autodesk products to conceptually design Marin frames through 3-dimensional drafting and detailing in order to attain the perfect geometry for every bike. Different categories of bikes are intended for different riding conditions. For example, we carefully model and test a rider's fit and frame geometry until we achieve the optimal desired results. While computer modelling enables our Product Development department to begin the testing process steps ahead of the drafting table and calculator, we believe that there is no alternative to actual bicycle riding.
Every Marin bike is painstakingly designed and tested before it reaches the production floor. You can rest assured that whether it's a slacker head tube angle on the Quake 7.1 or telescoping headtube on the Redwood or Fairfax, each bike was designed with performance, comfort, and aesthetics in mind. If it is an upright riding position with confident steering, an aggressive and responsive position on a road racing model, or a low slung centre of gravity on a XC trail bike, the Marin Product Department has painstakingly stressed the small stuff so you won't have to.
